Barb Stevens-Newcomb
The skies, marshes and rolling hills of rural Waukesha County, Wisconsin and the wild places I vist color my art. The land informs what I create, and it expresses finding home.
At age seven I fell in love with Vincent Van Gogh and I began a life-long love for the colorists Georgia O’Keefe, Miró and Vassily Kandinsky. I attended art school at the Milwaukee Art Museum as a child, took the train to the Art Institute of Chicago and later studied Art in undergraduate and graduate school.
My work has been exhibited on both coasts and in the mid west, in Oklahoma and Wisconsin.
